ATTENTION RESIDENTS

The Management of Erasmia SAPS have been made aware of the concerns raised by the local residents about the people who are standing at the Traffic robots along R55, M26 roads begging for food and money.

The station has received a number of complaints from the residents including motorist and other road users.

In the past few months we have seen an influx of people who are occupying main entrances between Erasmia and Laudium.

We want to urge Communities , motorist and other road users at large, to refrain from giving them money at the robots as it encourages them not to stop asking for money.

It doesn’t only put their life’s in danger by standing at the robots , but also the motorist, as it could lead to serious accidents and/or loss of lives.

Furthermore, we encourage Community Policing Forums to assist the Police in dealing with these issue as a matter of agency.

Lets advice the homeless to visit designated organization that provide food for them within our Communities.
