“When anyone calls 10111 – or any other emergency service we often find that the operator gets the street name and address incorrect:
- Learn to spell your street name using the following – this way SAP vans/vehicles as well as ambulances and fire trucks will be given a proper spelling of the street.
- Make very sure that your home is CLEARLY MARKED – the numbers are all too often VERY difficult to see – also making response time longer.
- Always remember to give your closest SAP Station or Suburb, for instance Laezonia nearest SAP station will be Erasmia, the same with any other emergency.
- Prioritisation of complaints:-
- Alpha – Complaint in progress and all serious crime requiring immediate police action;
- Bravo – Crime already occurred with no immediate threat to life or property;
- Charlie – Less serious crimes e.g. drunkenness and loitering.
