Police were disappointed that a person they regarded as an “extended hand in the community” was involved with such criminal activities.

Two suspects including a CPF member were arrested this weekend by Bronkhospruit SAPS for an armed house robbery committed on February 19.

Police spokesperson Constable Munyadziwa Ramovha said the complainant reported that at 20:30 on the 19th, one of the suspects knocked on his door aggressively claiming that he was owed R3000.

Ramavoha said after a brief engagement, the suspect left and returned with several unknown armed people and demanded the sum of R3000.

“While he was trying to explain, a shot was fired at his door. He then managed to escape. The suspects got inside the house and stole his cellphone, fridge and groceries valued at R7450,” said Ramovha

Station Commander Colonel Maqhawe Dhladhla applauded the swift action of members which led to the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the firearm used in the crime.

“It is with great disappointment that I have to inform you that one of the arrested suspects is a CPF executive member.
