L20 Krause Street, Laezonia AH – Part 4

The DLSSF have previously reported on the state of L20, Krause Street, Laezonia AH, including efforts to report the property as a “derelict and abandoned” property in terms of the Tshwane By-Laws on Derelict Buildings.

The By-Law defines a derelict building as follows:

“derelict building” means a building that is inhabitable and unsuitable for occupancy by humans as may be determined by the authorised official and may include a building which in his or her opinion:

(a) appears to have been abandoned by the owner with or without the consequence that rates or other service charges are not being paid;

(b) is the subject of numerous complaints of derelict buildings from the public including complaints in respect of any criminal activity attached to such building.

The images below taken this weekend, 21 March 2025, indicate the current extent of the demolition and vandalisation of the property as well as clear evidence of a person or persons staying on the property. In the next few months it will also become a fire hazard. There is also clear evidence of a truck removing the bricks from the property.

According to previous email correspondence, a Notice was served on the property “owner / estate” on 29 February 2024.
