Eleven Truck Hi-Jackers Arrested Offloading Stolen Stock

The South African Police Service has arrested eleven suspects in connection with the hijacking of a goods truck carrying one and a half million Rands stock.

On 2023/05/02 members of Lyttelton SAPS received information about a truck that had been hijacked on the N1 highway between Botha and John Voster Drive.

The tracking company was hot on the heels of the suspects and was on the R511 towards Gerhardsville plots.

The members of Lyttelton SAPS were joined by local security companies and a multidisciplinary operation was underway.

Information was received that the goods were being offloaded at a plot in Gerhardsville area, and a team was immediately dispatched to the address where the information was confirmed.

Two vehicles fled the scene and a high-speed chase ensued, the suspects were not able to get very far due to the quick reaction of the SAPS and the security members. The suspects were apprehended at a shopping centre in Gerhardsville

All suspects were apprehended and upon further investigation, it was discovered that a large amount of cash was found in the one getaway vehicle.
