Good news on the child whose mother was murdered in Pretorius Street
“Representatives of a neighbouring community have been tracking the welfare of the child. They went to the shelter on Friday to see the child. The child has had a full medical including Aids and Covid-19 tests and only has a runny nose. The medical practitioner says she is about 18 months old and is walking. She will not drink out of a bottle. She was very shy and reserved but did respond to the social worker. She is being well looked after. They are not sure of her language as she is not responding to local and Zimbabwean languages. They have given her a name and she responds if called. They will go and visit again. The social worker is a really lovely young girl who does not mind children climbing all over her. It was a heart warming experience.”
